How much will this cost
I do not quote any prices. I don’t give any information with that, because when they call in and I print out – it’s based on what the charges are, where the charges are, criminal history. There’s a lot to it. It’s not just one charge and this is the price, because everything requires more work. The more history there is, then the more information we have to get and try and handle, because sometimes it makes several cases involved, not just the most current one. They go through all the paperwork, talk to the family. They’re good about payments. They normally tell them on the first phone call. It’s always a free consultation. The family knows, and the client when they come in, what they’re probably looking at as a price, so they’re aware of that. They’re very good about working with people and trying to help, whether they have it or not.
Our intake process
Whenever I get phone calls, if it’s for new clients, I got through everything with them before I transfer them to any attorney, just their names, their family members that we can contact, what’s going on, are they in jail. That way I know who I need to send it to because John handles all of our domestic. Everyone does criminal. Then I get all of the information, go online, print it off, have everything so that when they call, they know exactly what’s going on with this person and who they need to talk to. Because sometimes people will call that are not family members and wanting information. We just can’t do that. Even if they’re in jail, I ask who can we speak to that you are okay with because their privacy is important also. When they come in the office, we just have them fill out a new client form and that way they can put all of their notes on it. I keep an intake folder for everyone that comes in or calls just in case they can’t pay a retainer or do anything at that moment. When they call back, we have everything right there and we know exactly what was going on.
No Judgement
We’re here to help them. We’re not here to judge them. We’re here to try and fix whatever is happening in their lives so that they can continue and not have to worry about it in the future and just try and give them any type of peace because there are a lot of situations that are really bad. We just want them to understand that we’re not here to judge them about it, just to try and help them. That’s the most important thing.
Client Confidentiality
We are very strict on that only because it’s not something that everybody needs to know. Even families sometimes have to be honest and say we can’t give that information because the clients don’t want us to. Whenever they tell me that, I’m very upfront and honest with people about that because I like them to know the reason I’m not giving the information out is because I was told by our client not to. Because a lot of people think because they paid the retainer, then we should tell them everything and it’s just not always the case because sometimes it does get out of hand and you have to – the client’s most important. That’s our priority.
What to expect when you call us
When they call our office or need assistance, someone will always answer the phone, speak with them, get all the information. I try to just listen to them and listen to what’s going on and try to just calm them down a little bit, if nothing else, so that, you know, they have a little peace of mind. And we can start working on their cases.
Communication with Clients
Any time anyone calls in, they’re always going to have someone answer the phones. They’re going to speak to a person, whether it’s me or any of the attorneys. Every client pretty much has all of our cellphones, including mine. If anything comes up, I text clients from my personal phone to let them know exactly if they have a court date coming up or if I need to ask them for something, I tell them when they retain the attorneys, I give them my personal cellphone number. If anything comes up, they can call me or get in touch with me if they can’t reach them.
