“Whenever I get phone calls, if it’s for new clients, I got through everything with them before I transfer them to any attorney, just their names, their family members that we can contact, what’s going on, are they in jail. That way I know who I need to send it to because John handles all of our domestic. Everyone does criminal. Then I get all of the information, go online, print it off, have everything so that when they call, they know exactly what’s going on with this person and who they need to talk to. Because sometimes people will call that are not family members and wanting information. We just can’t do that. Even if they’re in jail, I ask who can we speak to that you are okay with because their privacy is important also.

When they come in the office, we just have them fill out a new client form and that way they can put all of their notes on it. I keep an intake folder for everyone that comes in or calls just in case they can’t pay a retainer or do anything at that moment. When they call back, we have everything right there and we know exactly what was going on. “
