Attorney Bobby Phillips is a Savannah native who was educated at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where he received his AB degree in 1968 and his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1970. After graduating from law school, Attorney Bobby Phillips entered the United States Army and served for almost four years in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC) office in Stuttgart, Germany.
Attorney Bobby Phillips returned to Savannah in 1974 to begin the private practice of law specializing in criminal law. Over the years he has defended thousands of clients charged with criminal offenses. Attorney Bobby Phillips has appeared on Court TV both for an interview and as a commentator after one of his most notorious cases involving the insanity defense. He has won acquittals in murder, rape and robbery cases.
In 1980 he joined another firm which eventually developed as Savannah’s most prominent and successful plaintiffs’ firm. During the period from 1980 through 1992 attorney Bobby Phillips successfully handled personal injury cases, medical malpractice cases, business litigation and cases involving serious injury and death, COLLECTING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR HIS CLIENTS.
In 1993 attorney Bobby Phillips established his own firm and began to handle legal malpractice claims. He was the first Savannah attorney to specialize in legal malpractice litigation.
Today attorney Bobby Phillips continues to handle legal malpractice litigation as well as serious personal injury cases. Attorney Phillips still continues to aggressively and most successfully represent clients charged with serious felonies.
In addition to his busy and successful law practice, attorney Bobby Phillips has been active in his community. He is a 1979 graduate of Leadership Savannah and he was the Jaycees Man of the Year in 1980. Attorney Bobby Phillips served six years as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives during which time he served on numerous important and influential committees. Attorney Bobby Phillips also served as Chairman of the Chatham County Democratic Committee for 2 years and was a candidate for the State Court Judgeship in 2002.
Attorney Bobby Phillips’ extensive knowledge and experience has earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients. He is the only Savannah area attorney to appear and be interviewed on Court TV.
